We have since opened locations in Abu Dhabi, Manama, Riyadh (2009), Doha and Cairo.

We work with our clients to develop strategy, build new businesses, enhance organizational structures and improve operational performances to ensure distinctive, lasting and substantial improvements in our clients' performance. From the outset, our consultants work closely with senior client executives and McKinsey colleagues helping develop sector-shaping and nation-transforming programmes in one of the most entrepreneurial environments.

In North America we serve clients in all key sectors, including banking & insurance, telecommunications, energy, transport & logistics, consumer goods, and healthcare. In addition, we serve social-sector clients with projects in health, education, and economic development.

While McKinsey is best known for strategy consulting much of our growth today is in areas such as digital, solutions & software, business technology and implementation.  As we expand these functions we continually look for a more diverse group of people – such as experts in technology, project management, and computer science – in addition to top talent from business schools.

Our Istanbul Office was established in 1995, with McKinsey & Company as the first top-management consulting firm with a presence in Turkey. In serving clients over multiple years, we have developed deep knowledge on important issues within the Turkish economy and business culture. We have a very strong commitment to building a world-class cadre of experienced management consultants, reaching ~75 in 2015. Our office has served a large number of clients in various industries and functions.

More than 90% of our consultants are Turkish nationals with international work experience (both within and prior to McKinsey) and/or academic background with unique achievement records. More than 50 of our consultants have Masters and PhD degrees from the most prestigious schools abroad.

Our presence in Turkey In the mid-1980’s, McKinsey helped shape Turkey’s application to the EU prior to even having an office in Istanbul, which was first established in 1995. In the early 2000’s, the office grew to more than 30 consultants and studies started to broaden from improving the standards of Turkey’s automotive industry to an expansion program for Turkey’s most profitable bank; from restructuring Turkey’s largest television manufacturer to human resource management and corporate governance for conglomerates. Through a more organized partnership with our Athens, Italy, and Tel Aviv offices that started in 2003, we were able to build on early local success and further expand our support to clients in the region, providing them and our consultants with access to a larger community of support and guidance. As of 2014, although we remain connected with the broader region the Istanbul office is independent of the Mediterranean complex.

United Kingdom & Ireland

This diversity is also reflected in the breadth of work we undertake. We serve the entire economy: from FTSE 100 companies and major multinationals to large public sector bodies and leading charities.

London and Dublin are home to many of McKinsey's global practices, and our consultants have extensive experience in all major industry sectors and functions as well as most countries and cultures. To deliver distinctive impact, we continually invest in building our knowledge and developing new capabilities.
